Note: only one additional board can be fitted into
an eXpert2
More Doors
Option 1
Fit an eXpander2 board inside the eXpert2 case |
This provides another 2 doors,
2 readers, 4 inputs and 2 outputs. The card capacity is
reduced from 48,000 to 36,000. |
Option 2
Install an eXpert2 SLAVE controller |
If running cables from 4 doors back to one
location is impractical, this is an alternative solution
which provides another 2 doors, 2 readers, 4 inputs and
2 outputs. The card capacity is reduced from 48,000 to
36,000. The eXpert 2 acts as a master and connects to
the SLAVE over RS485. The SLAVE can have an eXpander2
fitted as well, and provides the same increase as option
1. A total of 7 SLAVES and eXpanders can be controlled
from one Master (card capacity reduces as more doors are
controlled). If the eXpert fails, some functionality at
the SLAVE is lost. |
Option 3
Install another eXpert2 controller |
If the reduction in card capacity in options
1 & 2 are unacceptable, this is the solution. If one
eXpert fails, the other is unaffected. |

inputs and 32 relay outputs (changeover contacts). |
